Merrick Garland a major escalation of the weaponization of the security state

Merrick Garland, civil liberties, freedom and the Constitution.

Texas political science professor Emil Ficker told JournoNews, referring to President Trump, “He misjudged Attorney General Garland and how ambitious and corrupt he is and I think he sort of demonstrated the casualness about the nature of socialism. Mr Trump didn’t realize that Garland shares the same ideology as Lenin ad Stalin? This communist/authortarian thing is at the heart of everything going on here.”

Ficker added, “It’s still not clear whether the raid was ‘an end in and of itself’ conducted to remove Biden’s opponent completely from the field or ‘if it was a step to find an excuse (permission) to defame Mr Trump in perpetuity.’  I think it was at least ‘midterm political’ and certainly 2024 political. And it just, it sort of tells you something about the state of his [Trump’s] mind and the people around him that they didn’t understand what kind of people populate the top of the Democratic party. Can this slow of a Republican really do what it takes beginning in 2025 to rescue the country?”

Former Democratic Hawaii Rep. Tulsi Gabbard guest hosted for Tucker Carlson’s Fox News show on Friday night to discuss the Mar-a-Lago search warrant and more.

Gabbard said in a tweet she would be covering “the Trump search warrant, Europe’s upcoming energy crisis, the Afghanistan withdrawal one year ago, and biological males competing against women in sports.”

Merrick Garland, who must recuse himself from the investigation

Clay Travis quarterbacks the program Friday and is calling out Merrick Garland, who must recuse himself from the investigation into Donald Trump. Republicans should be shouting this from the rooftops, and it should be one of the biggest arguments in all of America.

Clay Travis said on air, “How in the world can anyone believe that Merit Garland, especially given the FBI’s already history with Donald Trump and the Department of Justice’s history with Donald Trump, how can anyone believe that he can conduct an impartial investigation of his employers, because Joe Biden’s his employer, of his employer’s top rival for the presidency. The fact that Merritt Garland is in any way involved and he said yesterday, “I personally approved this warrant.” How is he allowed to lead an investigation into the top political rival of his boss? This is next level Banana Republic crazy.”

Political science professor Emil Ficker told JournoNews, They call Donald Trump the King of the long con but it looks to me like Merrick Garland has stolen a page from the playbook.

“It’s all optics,” Trump lawyer Alina Habba told Newsmax, “It’s all because he’s leading in the polls. It’s because we have [a midterm] election coming up in November. This is calculated, calculated, calculated, and it was two days before our deposition” before the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office in an unrelated civil investigation into his family’s business practices.”

Tulsi Gabbard tells the truth about Merrick Garland

Exposes uncomfortable truths about the security state

Gabbard ripped the FBI’s raid on former President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home, saying it was an escalation of the “security state” of America.

“The FBI’s raid on Mar-a-Lago was a major escalation of the weaponization of the security state on the American public. It’s about to get much worse, because right here before the midterms we’re seeing these entities being politicized and weaponized – now here is just one example: Twitter announced it’s rolling out their new misinformation rules to ‘protect conversation on Twitter during elections,’” Gabbard noted before bringing on a guest to discuss misinformation.

Gabbard then criticized President Joe Biden’s administration for working with Twitter and referenced the “Ministry of Truth” that was later dissolved.

Gabbard said it’s time to get “back to the basics.”

“Civil liberties, freedom and the Constitution and I think what’s so concerning to people is that we have government finding ways to try to undermine those fundamental freedoms,” Gabbard said. “The FBI raid on Mar-a-Lago earlier this week marked the beginning of a new and dangerous path for America.”

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene files articles of impeachment against U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland

Garland ordered the illegal raid on Trump’s residence at Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, Florida.

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) announced on Friday that she filed articles of impeachment against U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland. The Republican representative for Georgia claimed that Garland helped facilitate a “political persecution” of former President Donald Trump.

Garland drew the ire of Garland after the FBI raid of Trump’s residence at Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, Florida. Taylor accused Garland of not “faithfully” executing the office of the attorney general’s promise to “preserve, protect and defend” the United States Constitution.

Taylor told reporters outside the Capitol building, “What they’ve been doing to [former] President Trump is political persecution.”

“Merrick Garland has abused his position of power as the attorney general to politically persecute Joe Biden’s enemies,” she added. “And the whole purpose of this is to prevent President Trump from ever being able to hold office.”

“I’m introducing articles of impeachment on Merrick Garland,” Taylor proclaimed. “Because we cannot tolerate this in America, where our great institutions are welded and abused in such a way to impeach people’s political enemies.”

Taylor’s articles of impeachment accused the attorney general of “endangering, compromising, and undermining the justice system of the United States by facilitating the persecution” of President Joe Biden’s political rival – Donald Trump.

“Personal approval to seek a search warrant for the raid on the home of the 45th President of the United States, Donald J. Trump, constitutes a blatant attempt to persecute a political opponent,” the document read.

Taylor’s resolution claimed that Garland’s “effort to unseal the search warrant for the home of former President Donald J. Trump constitutes an attempt to intimidate, harass, and potentially disqualify a political challenger to President Joseph R. Biden, Jr.”

Articles of impeachment against Garland are unlikely to pass in Congress since Democrats have a majority, and because it is unknown how many Republicans would support such a move. A two-thirds majority is needed for conviction.

Garland said on Thursday that he “personally approved” the FBI raid of Trump’s residence.

“Faithful adherence to the rule of law is the bedrock principle of the Justice Department and of our democracy,” Garland said. “Upholding the rule of law means applying the law evenly, without fear or favor.”

Other prominent Republicans, including Senators Rand Paul of Kentucky and Josh Hawley of Missouri, have suggested that Garland’s actions could merit impeachment.

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) accused the Department of Justice of reaching an “intolerable state of weaponized politicization.” McCarthy also promised an investigation into the DOJ if the Republicans retake the House after the 2022 midterm elections.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis said the FBI raid of Mar-a-Lago is “another escalation in the weaponization of federal agencies against the Regime’s political opponents.”

Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) declared, “Using government power to persecute political opponents is something we have seen many times from 3rd world Marxist dictatorships. But never before in America.”

Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) said, “In third world countries and banana republics they prosecute the former presidents/leaders and their staff. Right now, we look beneath them. We are in a race to the bottom.”
